bright autumn leaves
takes me back
to that cool crisp day
as I watched you
so unaware
etching the perfect portrait
in my mind
of you
and the falling leaves
surrounding you
capturing a permanent
takes me back
to that cool crisp day
as I watched you
so unaware
etching the perfect portrait
in my mind
of you
and the falling leaves
surrounding you
capturing a permanent
mental image
of being so in love..
I am trying something new, so check out my first blog post for children http://mrscdbrown.blogspot.com/ I taught pre-school for 11 yrs before I went into special education and this was something I always wanted to do but never attempted. Feedback would be great. Thank to all. Love, Cindy
ReplyDeletePoem is very nice Cindy :)
ReplyDelete'mental memory' -- just that i thought mental wasn't needed there,
the other blog -- will be there for sure..just spare me some time :)

devika
Devika, You are right, when I reread that mental was not needed. I was going for the image in my head, so i changed it. Tell me what you think, is that better or should I go back to memory and just drop the mental. Ha! I sound mental dont I ? Thanks so much, Love Cindy
ReplyDeleteLovely and sentimental :)
ReplyDeleteA very sweet poem. Young love always makes the biggest impression on us, but mature love is the only kind likely to leave a LASTING impression :)
ReplyDeletehaha! you are so cute, Cindy...Some of them call me mental!
ReplyDeletemental image -- i think a 'permanent image' conveys its....that happens only in the mind...but then your choice of "permanent mental image"
reinforces the idea...why i opted to take out mental was the very reason we said...something 'mental' there,
But then thats just me, so it could remain as "mental image"...or could be "permanent image in the mind"?
anyway, the poem is nice, Cindy:)

devika
You've, to use forms of your word -etched a perfect portrait-. _m
ReplyDeleteI went and read the kid poem and loved it. I tried to comment on that page and it wouldn't let me. :(
ReplyDeleteYou should write a book of kid's poems and we'll figure out how to get it published. And then you can give me some money when you are rich. Love you!
Nice one. And you kids-project is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Ralf
